Challenge

Can I work from home even if I have a lot of meetings?

"What happens if I have meetings on the days I'm working from home? I don't want to cause any inconvenience by rescheduling them, or by not being present to receive materials. My manager suggested video conferencing, but I don't want my colleagues to see my home."

Solution

People can attend meetings remotely using video conferencing.

Video conferencing makes attending meetings while working from home feasible. You don't need to reschedule the meeting or ask for materials afterwards. You can also turn your microphone and camera off and on. You don't need to show the room.

Data
chart

After using technology to work from home, the number of people who thought they couldn't do their work whilst working from home dropped from 26.5% to 18.8%.

Advice

You can attend meetings without being there in-person.

Video conferencing is not only useful for working from home, it's also useful when there are no meeting rooms available, or when the meeting location is very far away.

Fostering a culture where people can attend meetings remotely will make everyone comfortable about working from home. It will also improve work efficiency.
